Carbon and Energy

Today, Earth Day #55, I am preparing live internet links for my newest Bible study, Let Justice Roll Down: God’s Call to Care for Neighbors and All Creation, which is the 2024-2025 Horizons Bible Study published by Presbyterian Women, so that readers of the study can view the study’s underlying research sources.

One piece of my earlier book Inhabiting Eden that many have appreciated is a relatively brief explanation of the science of climate change, written for lay people. Since it is has not been available online before, I have lightly updated and illustrated it, and have made it available at this link. As I emphasize in the excerpt, it is not necessary to understand the science ourselves to trust the experts, nor to have the climate conversations we all need to have, but nevertheless, some people like to understand it a little better. Enjoy…or, I suppose, don’t enjoy, but I hope it is helpful.

The artwork at the top of this page is one of the eleven beautiful pieces provided by textile artist Lorraine Roy to illustrate the Horizons Bible Study.
